Welcome to the "Olive Tree Home Page." How did we come to name this homepage "The Olive Tree?" It's from a scripture in Zechariah, about a vision the Prophet had of "olive trees" standing before the God of the whole earth, pouring oil into a golden lampstand. Because this all became very significant to me. (Zechariah 4)
This website is dedicated to all those who desire to know God in a deeper way. In September 1973, after searching through "spiritual stuff" from "I CHING to you name it, Jesus Christ appeared in my life in the form of some Christian friends who were filled with God's Holy Spirit as it says in Acts 2:1-4, and invited me to a bible study.
The bible said that Jesus died for the sins of the world, and to receive this forgiveness you just ask. You can't earn this. It's just by grace through faith--the gift of God.
They showed me Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4, and Acts 2:18-36, how the early church through faith in Jesus Christ, appropriated Jesus command to "Repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, they received the Holy Spirit." Then they went out and turned the world upside down.
I learned that Jesus is the light of the world, and when he died, resurrected and ascended to the Father, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter. I this way, the church became a "MENORAH" or "LAMPSTAND," to shed the light of Jesus Christ on all the world.
